Baby Led Weaning Book

Baby led weaning a premature baby?

My baby was born 3 months premature and he can’t start weaning untill he is 9 months old, but he would be 6 months if born on his due date…
I really want to try baby led weaning, but I do not know if being premature we can do this. I am sure he should be ok as his body will be like a 6 month old but I want to make sure.
Does anyone know if any books where it talks about premature babies and baby led weaning too??
Like I said… He needs to wean at 9 months, not 6. I know when to start him on solids but wanted to know if baby led weaning a premmie baby was no different.
Melg, baby led weaning is for babies from 6 months old, not a year.

Dr. Sears has great info on that. I can’t think of the names of his books right now but they are all great! I think it should be fine to do baby led weaning even though he is premature. If anything, he needs breastmilk more than a full term baby. He may not wean when you want him to and if it causes too many problems for you, go ahead and wean him on your time table but get a good book from La Leche League or Dr. Sears. They both give great info about how to wean without the drama. From personal experience I know that you just drop a feeding each week and replace it with either table food or formula. That gives your baby and your body time to adjust to the change. Good luck!
