Mesh feeding bags?
What do you think of these mesh feeding bags compared to just giving the food to the baby? Will the baby learn to eat just as well or is this giving them a false sense of how to eat? Just curious on your thoughts.
We just began using these with our five month old daughter yesterday (they either did not exist or I just did not know about them when my older children, now 10 and 7, were babies). She loved it! (I gave her a chunk of cantaloupe).
I do not think that it will give them a false sense of how to eat. They are still putting something in their mouths, chewing, and swallowing. It is only allowing them to learn how to eat a wider variety of things in a safe manner. In that sense, it will teach them to eat more properly because you will introduce things that otherwise you would be afraid to because they could pose a choking hazard or what not.
Later, when she had her cereal she still accepted the spoon and tried to use the spoon herself.
I hope this helps…
