Baby food & nitrates?

Hi. My daughter will be 5 months on Friday. The pediatrician already okayed us to start cereal & fruits & now tonight, veggies we will start. I bought a bunch of jars. One of the ladies on here was telling me that greenbeans & carrots aren’t good to give under 6 months old because of nitrates? A lot of kids eat that stuff so I’m wondering if anyone else has heard of this because I was going to start her on greenbeans but now maybe sweet peas instead.

Any other foods that have nitrates that I shouldn’t give my daughter yet? Or am I just worrying over nothing? Help. Please.

why buy all that jarred stuff? its cheaper to make it at home and you know exactly whats been put in it. Baby cereal is a waste of money because all it is, is junk carbs. Just like what kraft dinner is to us, its good and it fills us up but it has no nutritional value in it. Why not just take a banana and mush it up? Do the same with an avocado. When you go shopping buy some acorn squash, cook it up, mash it all up, then freeze them in a ice cube tray.
as for the nitrates heres an article that will explain it more for you, check the site out a bit, they have some awesome baby food recipes you can make for cheaper than the 44 cents you paid for one jar
